Gordon Nardell QC

Gordon’s practice covers commercial and regulatory disputes about major projects and cross-border supplies of services in a range of sectors including energy, utilities, financial services and telecommunications.  Much of his work involves EU and international law on procurement, environmental impacts and information rights. Gordon was elected Leader of the European Circuit of the Bar in 2012.  Before taking silk he served on the Attorney-General’s panels of civil advocates.  Gordon is a Member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and is on the LCIA arbitrators’ panel.  He was formerly a commercial litigation solicitor.  Before moving to the Bar he practised at the Council of Europe and later the UK Parliamentary Counsel Office where he was a member of the drafting teams for the Competition Act 1998, Human Rights Act 1998 and Financial Services and Markets Act 2000.  He undertakes Parliamentary and public affairs work for a range of commercial clients.  Gordon is fluent in French and speaks some German and Italian.
