Members of the Immigration team have appeared in many of the leading cases in the field of immigration law, including ZT (Kosovo), Chikwamba, EB (Kosovo), Huang, and R v National Asylum Support Service, ex parte Westminster City Council.
Thirty Nine Essex Street has been increasing the proportion of work that it does for claimants in asylum and immigration cases. Members of the team act in cases ranging from appeals to the first tier and upper tribunal, to the Court of Appeal; judicial reviews that challenge removal and detention; challenges to control orders; judicial reviews of the Immigration Rules and applications by organisations that they be removed from the list of proscribed terrorist organisations. Members further act in the Special Immigration Appeals Commission.
