Sean Wilken QC secures important victory for British Rowing in first Olympic Selection Appeal

May 2012

Sean Wilken QC acted for British Rowing in its successful defence of the appeal brought by Rowley Douglas against his non-selection as cox for the Mens’ Rowing 8 for the 2012 Olympiad. Rowley Douglas was the cox in the Gold Medal boat at the Sydney Olympics and wished to cox at the Olympics this year. After trials, he was not selected and appealed. At the independent hearing, the Appeals Panel upheld British Rowing’s decision not to select Mr Douglas. Sean continues to act in and to advise on appeals relating to the 2012 Olympics.
