New Leader for European Circuit
Gordon Nardell QC has been elected Leader of the European Circuit of the Bar, succeeding Fergus Randolph QC who had held the post since 2009. The European Circuit, formed in 2001, acts as a forum for barristers and their EU counterparts with an interest in cross-border practice and European legal issues. Gordon’s first duty as Circuit Leader was to chair the European Circuit’s Third Annual Lecture, hosted at Thirty Nine Essex Street. The well-attended lecture, on the Common European Sales Law, was given by Professor Reinhard Zimmerman of the Max Planck Institute for Comparative and International Private Law. The Circuit holds its 2012 annual conference in Vienna this November. The conference topics include European data privacy law and developments in cross-border dispute resolution.
